Accessibility statement

Built to be used by everyone on the crew.

Our customers are public agencies, and public agencies are required to buy accessible software. We hold ourselves to the same standard on this website and in every product.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA for this website and for the web and mobile products we publish. Where a product has a browser edition and a self-hosted edition, both are held to the same standard.

What that means in practice

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
  • Text and interface colors meet the AA contrast ratio on their intended backgrounds. We publish the values on the brand page so you can check.
  • Headings, lists, tables, and form fields use proper semantic markup and labels, so screen readers announce them correctly.
  • Pages reflow to a phone screen without horizontal scrolling and respect the reader's reduced-motion setting.
  • Images that carry information have text alternatives. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Nothing on this site requires a mouse, a specific browser plug-in, or a third-party script.

Known limitations

  • The practice sectional chart in Part 107 Prep is a visual exercise by nature. Its questions are answerable from the chart legend text, but the chart itself is an image.
  • Printable certificates and incident reports are formatted for paper; the on-screen record is the accessible version.

Testing

We test with keyboard-only navigation, with the screen readers built into iOS and Android, and with automated checks in the browser. We do not claim that automated checks are sufficient; they are the floor.

Tell us what we missed

If any part of this site or our products is hard to use, please tell us through the contact page or a product's support channel. Describe what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use. Accessibility problems are treated as bugs that block work, and we answer within one business day.

For procurement

We can complete an Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) for any product on request as part of your vendor file.
